Learning Academy Partnership (South West)
Ellacombe Academy

I am delighted to welcome you to the Learning Academy Partnership (South West) website.
The Learning Academy Partnership is made up of our RAPIDLY IMPROVING newly formed Ellacombe Academy (April 2012) and Ilsham Church of England Academy, an already OUTSTANDING school. The Learning Academy Partnership is led by one Board of Directors and myself, the Executive Headteacher. I will be responsible and accountable for both Ellacombe Academy and Ilsham Church of England Academy. I will work in partnership, leading teaching and learning across the Partnership and be supported by Mrs Pitocco, Academy Head at Ellacombe and Mrs Bone as the Academy Head at Ilsham. Heads of Academies are also responsible for the day to day management of their respective Academy.
Together we are committed to 'Achieving Excellence for All' and we firmly believe that by working together together, supporting and challenging each other, sharing outstanding practice, and resources, all children can excel and will receive the best that our education system has to offer. Ellacombe is now well on its way to achieving OUTSTANDING status….Be amazed!....Come and see for yourself, we would be delighted to welcome you to our Academy to show you the amazing provision and outstanding learning.
The ethos in the partnership is determined and positive; outstanding leaders, talented teachers and support staff work together, teaching and learning across the Partnership for the benefit of all our children. We are committed in our determination of high standards and the highest aspirations for all. The school community is excited about the future and being part of creating something truly great. Both Ellacombe and Ilsham have a continuing bright future!
The former Ellacombe School and Ilsham Academy began working together in 2011. The success and benefits to both Ellacombe and Ilsham, during the past year have been extremely positive. At Ellacombe, the rapid rise in standards and transformation of the school has been very apparent. Visitors to Ellacombe are amazed by the space, the facilities, small class sizes and sparkling outstanding learning environments. At Ilsham, standards too, have continued to rise, as additional value is added from our outreach and National Support School work, our sharing of resources and our collaborative working, has meant that there has been a continued focus on improving teaching and learning and enhancing opportunities for all children.
I feel very privileged to be leading The Learning Academy Partnership at this exciting stage of its development, working together for the benefit of all children across our communities.
Each Academy retains and develops its own special ethos and distinctiveness; Ellacombe, as well as high aspirations for all, is also concerned with the moral, academic, social and spiritual education of our children. We are committed to the development of happy and respectful relationships.
Ilsham has strong links to St Matthias church. Its ethos is underpinned by Christian beliefs and values which are lived out in the daily life of our academy.
Education is best achieved by means of a partnership between parent, child and Academy. It is with your help and co-operation that this full potential can be met. We want our Academy to be an environment where all can feel happy and confident to contribute and aspire to achieving high educational standards. Only in such an ethos can a child take their place and produce his/her best.
We are always very proud to show visitors around our Academies to see first hand the quality learning opportunities and to meet our children, engaged and excited by their learning. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour.
If you would like any further information or would like to ask about anything to do with the Learning Academy Partnership, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be delighted to talk to you.

Yours sincerely
Mrs L Atkinson
Executive Headteacher
